Food Processing Plant Deep Well Water Filtration System
Country: China
Treated Solution: Deep well water
Application Scenario: Food processing plant
Technology: Self-cleaning filtration with high interception rate
Background
The company processes over 150 million broiler chickens annually and operates seven major production bases. It is a technology-driven food group with a fully integrated industrial chain spanning breeding, chick hatching, feed production, poultry farming, food processing, and import-export trade.
The water source for slaughtering broilers is deep well water. Solid particles and microorganisms present in the water severely affect product quality, making it essential to prevent any potential contamination from being carried into the final product.
Challenge
This food processing plant is a green, smart factory requiring water treatment equipment to be installed on the underground third floor (B3), with limited space for installation and maintenance.
The quality of the deep well water is unstable, with solid particle content ranging from trace amounts to 2% and a wide particle size distribution. The design required a water treatment capacity of 300 m³/h. The treated water is used for washing slaughtered broilers. Even minor residual solid particles on the chicken meat would have significant impacts on food hygiene and brand reputation.
In China's highly competitive market with well-developed manufacturing, a comprehensive, reliable technical solution and low operational costs for the water treatment system were critical for success.
Solution
YUBO designed, manufactured, and commissioned a two-stage filtration water treatment system with dimensions of 3.5 meters (length) × 2 meters (width) × 4 meters (height, including maintenance clearance).
The primary stage removes solid particles and other impurities larger than 25 μm, visible to the naked eye. Self-cleaning filtration was selected to handle fluctuations in solid content and their impact on system pressure drop. The YGDF series unit, controlled by digital signals based on pressure differential and time, cleans the filter surface using only 2 m³ of water every 4 hours to flush solids and impurities into the plant's wastewater treatment system.
The secondary stage utilizes the SSBF series stainless steel security filter, known for high filtration accuracy and interception efficiency. The treated water complies with China's "Sanitary Standard for Drinking Water" (GB5749), achieving a turbidity of 0.113 NTU, no visible impurities, and color below 5 degrees.
Result
YUBO's two-stage filtration system was successfully installed and commissioned. Water samples collected during initial operation and one month after commissioning were tested by a third-party laboratory, both meeting all water quality requirements.
